2024 Camry 2.5 Hybrid is launched: power and fuel consumption are further optimized, and intelligence is significantly improved

ecently, GAC Toyota officially launched the 2024 Camry2.5 Dual Engine, with three versions and a guide price of 219,800-259,800 yuan. The new car is equipped with a hybrid power system consisting of 2.5L + single motor. The overall performance is improved compared to the old model. The rear suspension is changed from E-type multi-link to double wishbone independent suspension. At the same time, it comes standard with L2-level intelligent driving and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

The appearance is consistent with the previously launched 2.0L and 2.0L Dual Engine versions, providing two styles with a more fashionable positioning and a sporty positioning. Among them, the Premium Edition and the Ultimate Edition adopt the same color design as the body. The front face has a distinct integrated style. The lower grille is a borderless center grille, and the two sides are decorated with vertical air vents. The integrated headlights have LED light sources and adaptive high and low beam functions.

From the side, you can see the waistline design with a strong three-dimensional sense, which looks younger. It is standardly equipped with 235mm tires. The Premium and Ultimate versions are equipped with 18-inch wheels, and the Sports Plus version is upgraded to 19-inch wheels. The length, width and height are 4915/1840/1450mm respectively, of which the Sports Plus version is 4950/1850/1450mm, and the wheelbase is 2825mm.

The rear design is relatively wide, the C-shaped taillight group is aligned with the outline of the headlights, the LED width lights are highly recognizable when lit, and the rear bumper is fully enclosed. The only difference is that the Sports Plus will add front and rear black kits to highlight the clearer sports sedan positioning.

The center console is standardly equipped with a leather steering wheel, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touch screen and a HUD head-up display, and the rearview mirrors are all equipped with anti-glare function. The car computer has been upgraded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, and the running speed has been significantly improved. It supports dual-zone voice recognition, application store, carplay/carlife/hicar connected to mobile phone screen projection, mobile phone APP remote control and other rich functions.

In addition, the entire series supports reversing imaging, and the flagship version is upgraded with 360-degree panoramic imaging and transparent chassis functions; front and rear radars, knee airbags/front center airbags, and L2-level assisted driving systems are standard, the latter of which can realize lane change assistance, full-speed adaptive cruise, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, active braking and other functions. The flagship version adds automatic lane change assist.

In terms of convenience, it comes standard with one-touch lifting of all windows, multi-layer soundproof glass for the entire vehicle, 5 TPE-C interfaces in the front and rear rows, wireless charging of mobile phones in the front row, air purification, air quality monitoring and other functions; the flagship version separately adds Bluetooth remote control key, rear windshield/rear side window sunshades, facial recognition, heated steering wheel, rear multimedia control interface, streaming media rearview mirror, independent rear air conditioning, fragrance device, etc.

The Premium and Ultimate versions use imitation leather/genuine leather seats, the Sport Plus version uses a mix of leather/suede seats, the Premium and Sport Plus have electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, electric driving memory for the front seats, adjustable buttons for the co-pilot rear seat and proportional folding of the rear backrests, the Ultimate version upgrades the second row backrest angle electric adjustment function, cancels the backrest folding function, and upgrades the JBL audio and 64-color ambient light, and its sunroof is a segmented structure, while the other two models have segmented, non-openable sunroofs.

Equipped with a hybrid system consisting of 2.5L + single motor, the system's comprehensive power is increased to 169 kW / 230 horsepower, matched with an E-CVT gearbox, and the WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is further reduced to 4.55L / 100km. The chassis adopts front McPherson + rear double wishbone independent suspension, and provides sports, economy, standard and custom driving mode switching.

When compared with the Accord, the 2.5 Hybrid Camry can improve its competitiveness through performance, fuel consumption and configuration. It can also highlight its fuel economy when competing with high-end models such as Passat and Magotan. However, the only thing that may bother it at present is the price.
